Jacques Prieur

Since 1868, Domaine Jacques Prieur has created one of the rarest mosaics of terroirs in Burgundy. Today it is probably the only estate owning vineyards on the greatest appellations both of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits: Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, Echézeaux, Corton, Meursault or Montrachet. This amazing collection is completed by other prestigious appellations and 3 Clos Monopoles.

Terroir

We are here in one of the greatest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. Located on a fault overlooking the Clos de Vougeot and adjoining the Combe d'Orveau. The Musigny South-East exposure benefits from a confined and solar microclimate. Its thin and light soil with a strong presence of stones,
guaranteeing good drainage, reinforces this impression of warmth. The grapes, always swollen with sunlight and at the ideal maturity, give birth to a velvety nectar on floral notes of violets with great persistence in the mouth.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and then sorted and completely destemmed. The vatting lasted 20 days at controlled temperature in wooden vats. We perform a punching down twice a day during the active phase of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%. The aging is done 100% in new oak barrels. Aging period: 20 months.
