Jacques Prieur

Since 1868, Domaine Jacques Prieur has created one of the rarest mosaics of terroirs in Burgundy. Today it is probably the only estate owning vineyards on the greatest appellations both of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits: Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, Echézeaux, Corton, Meursault or Montrachet. This amazing collection is completed by other prestigious appellations and 3 Clos Monopoles.

Terroir

Vineyard located on the hill of the Grands Crus of Corton. Its south-eastern orientation and its slight slope guarantee perfect ripeness of the grapes. The clay-limestone soil with the presence of stones, linked to the orientation, favors, whatever the climatic conditions of the year, an exceptional precocity of the maturity of the grapes.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and then sorted and completely destemmed. The fermentation lasted 22 days. We perform a punching down twice a day during the active phase of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%. The aging is done 100% in oak barrels.
Aging period: 18 months.
