Tasting Notes

Intense ruby red. Ben drawn purple disc. Very seductive with floral (violet, rose petal), fruity (fleshy black cherry) and spicy (sweet spices) notes. Smooth with dark fruit, ripe and fresh, evolving into roasted-smoky notes. Tasty and persistent finish on the palate with fine, silky and digestible tannins.

Jacques Prieur

Since 1868, Domaine Jacques Prieur has created one of the rarest mosaics of terroirs in Burgundy. Today it is probably the only estate owning vineyards on the greatest appellations both of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits: Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, Echézeaux, Corton, Meursault or Montrachet. This amazing collection is completed by other prestigious appellations and 3 Clos Monopoles.

Deep soil, brown on the surface, very evolved. Large blocks of cracked limestone in the basement. Full east exposure.

The grapes are harvested by hand and then sorted and completely destemmed. The vatting lasted 18 days at controlled temperature in wooden vats. We perform a punching down twice a day during the active phase of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%. The aging is done 100% in oak barrels. Aging period: 20 months.
