Tasting Notes

Dark ruby red marked by an intense purple disc. Seductive and charming with appetizing notes of black fruits (black cherry, cassis), which evolve on contact with the air on roasted and spicy notes. Warm, round, almost velvety with excessively tasty fruit when ripe. At the end of the mouth, silky and very digestible tannins are revealed.

Jacques Prieur

Since 1868, Domaine Jacques Prieur has created one of the rarest mosaics of terroirs in Burgundy. Today it is probably the only estate owning vineyards on the greatest appellations both of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits: Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, Echézeaux, Corton, Meursault or Montrachet. This amazing collection is completed by other prestigious appellations and 3 Clos Monopoles.

Full south exposure. Very steep. Thin, light brown, light soil of a silty and clay-limestone nature. Cracked limestones. Old stone quarries. Perfect drainage.

The grapes are harvested by hand and then sorted and completely destemmed. The fermentation lasted 18 days at controlled temperature in open wooden vats. We perform a punching down twice a day during the active phase of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%. The aging is done 100% in oak barrels. Duration of aging: 15 months.
