A wine for mere pleasure! Pale yellow colour with numerous bright green reflections. Intense persistant flavours of peach and white flowers harmoniously meshed together. On the palate, the wine is ample, fresh, intense, with reminiscent notes of ripe grapes, almond, fresh hazelnut and cinnamon. The mouth reveals an elegant wine endowered with a good structure.
Joseph Drouhin domaine is one of the largest estates in the region. It owns vineyards in all of Burgundy: Chablis , Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise . It is comprised of a majority of Premier and Grand Crus. The Domaine was put together through the years, thanks to judicious purchases and agreements between families. Some vineyards are among the most famous in Burgundy.
For some village or regional appellations, Joseph Drouhin complements its supplies by purchasing grapes from other vineyard owners who have been long time partners and share the same quest of excellence.
The production area stretches south of Burgundy in the Mâconnais region, within 10km south-west of Mâcon. Less famous than its neighbour "Fuissé", it has been known since the Roman times; "Vincella" is still tinged with its specificities. The vineyard, located at an altitude of 250m, on the steep slope facing east, is dominated by its fortified castle. Soil is clay and limestone rich in iron oxide.
Pressing very slow so as to respect the fruit. Juices from the last pressings are not retained. Ageing in partly in stainless steel vats and partly in oak barrels. Length: 6 to 8 months.
