The Labruyère family's wine-growing history began in 1850 when the founder of the Mâcon branch of the Labruyère family, Jean-Marie, settled in Les Thorins on what would become the Moulin-à-Vent Appellation in April 1924. These wine-growing roots subsequently developed in northern Burgundy, as the Labruyère family settled in Meursault at Domaine Jacques Prieur in 1988. Fonteny is a Premier Cru climat of the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in Burgundy. On the flanks of the Lavaux ravine, southern slope.This vineyard is located between the village itself and the Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru hill, where the Le Chambertin and Clos-de-Beze climats make some of the top wines in Burgundy.
